New River Mining Company Model Build

Added one light wash of acrylic white paint to the structures on this Walthers New River Mining kit.

New River Mining Co – Part 2

Put a layer of Dulcote spray over the first wash, then let that dry. Next, I applied a second wash using Refer White this time around. More layers in areas that would have a lot of water runoff from roof and siding corners.
Once this dries I’ll apply another Dulcote spray which will tone it down a bit.
Next, I’ll start with some rust effects.

New River Mining Co. – Part 3

After spraying a layer of Dulcote over the weekend, I started with a rust wash on the structures.
Acrylic paints thined with water, colors included Burnt Unmber, Raw Sienna, Yellow, and Red, also added a thin India Ink black wash slightly mixed in some areas with the wet brush.
I’ll add another Dulcote layer tomorrow.

New River Mining Co -Part 4

  • After the previous work the structures received another spray of Dulcote.
  • Painted a coat of Aged concrete to the pillars.
  • Burnt Umber added with tiny micro makeup brushes to add more rust effects.

New River Mining Co. progress part 5

Applied a light wash of Raw Sienna acrylic paint to just about everything on the structures this go around.

It toned down the Burnt Sienna that was applied yesterday.
